  You Can Make: Halloween Masks
 

What You Need for Bat Mask:

Foam sheets
- 2 black sheets

2 x 2cm
wobbly eyes

Card – white
(or white foam sheet)

Card - black

Elastic

Double-sided
tape

Stapler & staples

Scissors

Halloween Bat and Monster Masks

Halloween Bat MaskTo make a bat mask:

1. Cut out 'Base Mask' from black card. (Use Halloween Bat Mask Template 1)

2. Cut out 'Bat Head' and two 'Bat Wings' from black foam sheets and two 'Fangs' from white card or foam. (Use Halloween Bat Mask Template 2).

3. Cut out an eye hole in each wing. Join wings in the centre of the mask, making sure the holes are in line, and stick to base mask with double-sided tape.

4. Stick eyes and fangs to face with double-sided tape.

5. Stick Bat Head to mask, just above eye holes.

6. Trim any black card off base mask that is showing.

7. Fold tabs of base mask in half, towards the mask. Fold in half again.

8. Tie elastic to tab and staple (Make sure staple points are away from face).

9. Repeat step 8 for other side.

 
 

What You Need for Monster Mask:

Thin card
- green, black, white, brown

Chenille stem
- red

Pom poms (2")
- green

Black marker
pen

Elastic

Stapler &
staples

Doubled-sided
tape

All purpose
glue

Scissors

Monster MaskTo make a monster mask

1. Cut out 'Base Mask' (use Halloween Monster Mask Template 1) and 'Base Jaw' (use Halloween Monster Mask Template 2) from green card.

2. Stick top of jaw to bottom of base mask using double-sided tape.

3. Adjust jaw to fit.

4. Cut out parts 1-4 from green card, parts 5-7 from black card, part 8 from brown card and part 9 from white card. (Use Halloween Monster Mask Templates 3, 4 & 5.)

5. Stick 'Hair' (part 5) to top of 'Head' (part 1) using double-sided tape.

6. Stick 'Eyes' (part 9) in place, lining up holes using double-sided tape.

7. Stick 'Eyelids' (part 8) above eyes using double-sided tape.

8. Stick part 6 along bottom edge of eyelids using double-sided tape.

9. Stick part 7 around each eye using double-sided tape.

10. Glue one green pom pom to a cheek, using all purpose glue.

Ask your teacher if you should add any other features.

11. Fold over top of 'Mouth' (part 4) to form a lip.

12. Turn mouth over so the fold is facing you.

13. Glue red pipe cleaner along folded edge of card. (Fold ends in to avoid sharp points.)

14. Bend mouth into curve.

15. Stick mouth onto jaw.

16. Glue second green pom pom to jaw.

Ask your teacher if other features should be added.

17. Bend tabs back on Base Mask.

18. Glue ears to either side of head.

19. Stick jaw (part 2) to base jaw using double-sided tape. Use nose hole as a guide.

20. Put small strip double-sided tape on edge of ears.

21. Curve face and stick to Base Mask, lining up X's.

22. Fold tabs of base mask in half, towards the mask. Fold in half again.

23. Tie elastic to tab and staple (Make sure staple points are away from face).

24. Repeat step 23 for other side.
