An Essential Classroom Equipment List
Here is a check list of everything you need to get you started this term.
 
Paper:

A2 sheets. (Not shiny) White

Crêpe paper – all colours

Silver and gold shiny

Thin card coloured packs A4

Tracing paper A4

Small sheets blotting paper
(science experiments)

Sticky paper squares (lick and stick)

Paper plates (non waxed)

Corrugated card

Paint:

Primary colours – blue, red, yellow, black and white

Paint pads

Roller tray

Plastic aprons or painter’s coat

Brushes:

Large paint brushes (as used in home)

Stubby brushes (stencil brushes)

Paste brushes

Paint brushes – small

Plastic pot with lid to avoid spillage

Printing:

Hand size blocks with simple shapes / designs

Rollers:

Absorbent pad to soak with paint

Small sheets (A4) of
bubble wrap (You paint it and then turn it over and print with it)

String - Stick a coil, roll over with paint covered roller – print

Glue:

White PVA

Wallpaper paste

PRIT sticks

Plastics:

Cotton reels

Plastic cutters

Beads (large) - sq boxed shaped; circular; rectangled square and trianguled

Straws (straight and with bend) for printing

Plastic spatula for spreading glue

Sticky back plastic (rolls)

Box Models:

Plain cardboard boxes (boxes from home are no longer permitted in school as some cornflake boxes have had nuts in them and children with a nut allergy are at risk!)

Tubes (toilet roll middles are not hygienic)

Wooden dowel rods

Paper circles with holes in the middle

Stickers ('Well done!' etc)

Glitter

Scissors – ordinary and left-handed

Pencils

Crayons – wax - pastel

White boards for individual use

Little felt pads to rub off the boards

Modelling:

Play dough

Modroc – like bandaging which is soaked in Plaster of Paris

Balloons

Papier maché

Bags of ready torn bits of paper and paste with instructions of how to mix and how many layers needed (e.g. 5)

Clay – non firing + hardener

Storage:

Plastic trays

Zig zag frames to hang wet painting on

Large trays, open ended, to store paper A2

Clothes lines and dolls’ pegs to hang pictures on across the classroom. (Pegs also extremely useful to create characters).

Coloured drawing pins

Coloured paper clips

Sand and sand tray

Water tray and toys for water play boats, sponges, buckets and mixture of different size containers, funnels and squeezy bottles

Role Play:

Dressing up clothes (Your pupils could contribute to this) simple cloaks etc

Papier maché Masks

Shop items – fruit and vegetables (plastic)

Till – plastic money

Sewing:

Card with holes in. Thread a lace in and out of holes

Binca – coloured tapestry material

Coloured wools

Large sewing needles

Weaving:

Variety of threads, papers, string to weave in and out

Felt squares
