Jokes
     

1) Children tell jokes and write them out.

2) The class compiles a list of jokes, for example:

Turning Words into Images
     

1) Children choose adjectives to describe the weather items. Then using WORD they turn them into images based on for e.g. type of font, size of font, use of colour etc.

2) They could then discuss their interpretations, comparing similarities and differences.

Alphabetical Order

1) Put the following words in alphabetical order:

Weather
Snow
Rain
Sun
Hat
Cold
Cloud
Warm
Flood
Frost

2) Now write a sentence for each word to show you understand what each word means.

Capitals & Fullstops

The capital letters and full stops have been removed from these sentences. Can you write these sentences out again and put in all the capital letters and full stops?

my school is called st john's when i went to school yesterday it was raining by lunchtime it was snowing we were very excited our teacher, mrs gordon, came out with us to build a snowman we called him rudolph because his nose was a red ball it was the best lunchtime at school ever it was still snowing when we got home my brother, andrew, and i had a smashing snow fight our cousin, denise, also joined in.
