What You Need:

Felt - red,
black, pink,
white

Wadding fabric
- white

Keyring fob
- gold coloured

Pom pom

Wobbly eyes

Needlework
pins

Press stud
fixing

PVA glue

Scissors

Pencil

Optional:

Cotton thread
- red, black
and white

Sewing needle

Santa Keyring/Purse
     
    How To Make
         
   

IMPORTANT NOTE:

1. If using glue always wait for glue to dry before doing next step.

2. Read all instructions for each section before making.

Cut out shapes using templates 1 & 2 provided:

1. Mark out shapes on felt, using templates. (Note: Templates show colours to be used.)

2. Cut out all shapes.

   
   

To make the boots:

1. Find two felt boot shapes (black.)

2. Fold one felt boot shape in half.

3. Glue, or sew, edges together, leaving top open.

4. Stuff boot with wadding fabric.

5. Glue or sew top edges together.

6. Repeat for other boot.

   
   

To make the legs:

1. Find one 'trouser leg' felt shape (red), one 'trouser leg trim' (white) and one boot (black).

2. Stick one 'trouser leg trim' to edge of leg shape.

3. Fold trouser leg shape in half and glue or sew around top of boot.

4. Repeat for other boot.

   
   

To make the arms:

1. Find two jacket arm shapes (red), two jacket cuff shapes(white) and two hand shapes (pink).

2. Stick jacket cuff to one end of the jacket arm.

3. Fold jacket arm in half.

4. Sew or glue edges together, leaving white cuff edge open.

5. Stuff arm with wadding fabric.

6. Sew or glue open end of arm.

7. Repeat for other arm.

   
 

To make the hat:

1. Find hat and hat trim felt pieces.

2. Stick white 'trim' to bottom edge of 'hat'.

3. Fold outside edges of hat to meet in middle.

4. Glue or sew straight edges together, creating seam down middle of hat back.

5. Glue or sew pom-pom to top of hat.

6. Carefully sew press-stud to back layer of hat, approximately 2cm down from point.

Purse opening
 

To make the body and purse:

1. Find two red circles, one pink circle, arms, legs.

2. Create a neat pile of felt circles - two red circles, wadding fabric, one pink circle.

3. Between top red circle and pink circle, insert arms either side of body.

4. Between top red circle and pink circle, insert legs at bottom.

5. Secure pieces in place with needle work pins.

6. Sew around edge of circles, creating body. (Ensure arms and legs are secured.)

7. Add more wadding if required.

8. REMEMBER: When sewing to leave top edge between two red circles open. This is opening for purse.

9. Sew press-stud fastener on to back of body (middle of bottom red circle) - make sure you only sew fastener to one layer.)

 
Santa Face

To make the face:

1. Find completed body, hair, beard, moustache and wobbly eyes.

2. Stick hair, beard, moustache and wobbly eyes in place on pink circle using PVA glue.

3. Place hat on head so that trim rests just above eyes.

4. Glue or sew hat into position, making sure a gap is left in top edge for purse opening.

5. Stitch key-ring fob into place, just below hat trim.
