How to make it
How to make it
- Clock: Cut the clock side panels from the card, then cover with fabric securing on the reverse with double sided tape.
- Cover the two roof panels in the same way, but add a panel of fabric to the undersides as these will be visible.
- Cut a circle of white felt and attach to the front panel using large stitches of the grey-blue thread.
- Add the clock hands and a small button using black thread.
- Stitch the panels together using the grey-blue thread and large stitches picking up the fabric only; it is not necessary to stitch through the card.
- After stitching the two roof panels together, attach these to the clock body with a bead of glue and secure temporarily with pins. Leave to dry thoroughly and remove pins.
- Cut a 70 cm length of cord and stitch a pom pom to each end.
- After you have attached the two pom poms, fold the cord and sit the fold in a blob of glue on the inside centre of the back panel. Leave to dry flat.
- Mouse: Cut enough pattern pieces from the grey felt to make two mice.
- Sew the edges with a plain or blanket stitch using three strands of the pink embroidery thread.
- Don't forget to add the tail (knot on the inside of the body to secure) and leave a small opening to allow for the stuffing.
- Stitch the mouse closed.
- Add two small fabric ears, two beads for eyes and black thread whiskers.
- Finally use a single strand of the grey-blue thread to stitch the mice to the clock body.
