How to make it
How to make it
- Step 1: Using a ceramic tile as a work surface, cut three portions each of green, peppermint and white FIMO. Condition and roll the green into a rectangle 2-3mm deep.
- Trim to 8cm x 3cm. Roll the peppermint 2-3mm deep, place the green on top and trim to the same size. Repeat with the white FIMO.
- Step 2: Trim a 2mm wide vertical slice from the long edge of the stacked FIMO. Repeat, laying the strips flat and close together with the stripes alternating in colour.
- Roll into a stripy rectangle so that the strips stick to each other.
- Remove from your work surface by sliding your blade underneath the rolled FIMO.
- Step 3: Roll one of the remaining pieces of FIMO into a sausage 10cm long.
- Place in the centre of the striped FIMO rectangle, roll up and trim where the edges meet. Roll until 20cm long and trim the ends to neaten.
- Cut the sausage in half and curve each piece around until the trimmed edges meet. Smooth to neaten.
- Use the remaining piece to create tassels or another handle.
- Step 4: Oven-bake your FIMO handles and tassels on the ceramic tile for 30 minutes at 110‡C/230‡F. Allow to cool. Braid with ribbons and tassels and attach to a drawer.
