Gouache Permanent White
I have used this particular white most of my Art career. Excellent covering power, if used with minimal water content, to whiten out mistakes on pen & ink drawings. Will also cover black lines on photocopies and printouts off home prints. The black lines may bleed a little so may need anotther coat. When thoroughly dry it will take black technical pen lines.
It can be mixed with watercolours and intermixed with coloured gouache but is powerful and so use it sparingly.
Gouache painting is losing popularity but for the inexperience amateur it is an easier technique to master before investing in Acrylics or expensive oil colours.
I paint in a retro 1940’s poster style.

Fine for general use but not great for fine work
I bought quite a few Daller Rowney gouache to try, having used another brand for years. I found the Daller Rowney quite a greasy texture and didn't lay onto my hand stretched canvas (prepared with gesso) well at all for my fine work which needed a smooth, mat opaque finish.
I've used it since for more general work which doesn't need such a high quality finish, and it was ok for that...but wouldn't choose it again for preference. I do like some of their colours though, and found if I was doing a colour wash base layer the Indian Red gave a great colour when lots of water added. Hope you find this helpful.

Just the job
Used this gouache for years. Good quality and great covering power. Useful to add opacity to water-based inks and acrylics, as well as on its own

This is a must for all artists. Great for water colour ,pen and ink. You shouldn't be without it. A must for mistakes or add ons.

The product has numerous uses
I use the white guache in its own right, to tone down other guache colours and water colours, to paint over small mistakes.
