Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy to use, good results As always, I was pleased with the dye. It gives good, deep, and even colour coverage, and is very straightforward to use. There are only a very limited number of colours available though, so I think I'm going to start looking further afield for a more interesting range. 14 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by dylon dyes are always good I always find dylon machine dyes do what they say. Follow the instructions and they work a treat. You can ignore the warning that they don't work on wool, but there are drawbacks. They do work, but they WON'T COME OUT THE SAME COLOUR as the pack and you do risk felting the wool, because of the temperature and the spin cycle you need to use. However, pure wool will take on some colour, just not the advertised colour. The wool may shrink too, so do not cut a pattern and then dye the pieces, dye the whole bit of cloth. I think these points are why they caution not for use on wool. However, they work well on cotton and calico and your machine doesn't suffer either. Simply dye the fabric, then run it through a wash cycle again to get rid of excess dye, then do a wash with no clothes in afterward to clean your washer and your subsequent washes shouldn't be affected. That is why I find them so useful. No mess, no fuss, just a quick way of dying material, or clothes, to get a new colour. 13 December 2015
