Great for adding sparkle- but requires skill.
These metallic threads are a huge upgrade from the old style twisted with yarn, they are smoother, stronger and give a great finish. I used to satin stitch appliqués on handmade stockings on a standard sewing machine and it gives a beautiful shimmery finish.
However, it’s a steep learning curve if you haven’t worked with such threads before- I lowered my tension very low as the bobbin will often be pulled to the RS with tension you would set for a standard poly/cotton thread.
That said like all Gutermann, these are hugely superior to other embroidery style metallic thread and certainly worth the cost.

Metallic thread
This thread is really pretty and gives a lovely result especially when used with a fancy stitch. It is fragile as metallic threads usually are so I made sure I used a sharp needle and reduced the speed of my machine and it worked a treat!

My machine loved this thread!
I loved using this multi colour metallic thread. I was able to use it to do machine embroidery to decorate a summer table cloth. The thread never broke, snagged or knotted once :)

Love this thread
If I had to pick a favourite thread from my huge stash this would be it, insect wings, unicorn horns, all sorts of things. Best of all I dont have problems with splitting and breaking so long as I use a big enough needle.
