So I have slit the waistband and put black elastic in the slits .perfect his belt covers the elastic so his work colleagues can not tell he has had alterations haha

It can be a slight fiddle to sew it on but if you have a sewing machine you just pull it tight as you're stitching and Bob's your uncle.
