Sometimes old tech is better than new.
Originally I had bought a very comfortable pink silicone thimble, which only lasted a few stitches. I've therefore gone back to a metal thimble and, whilst not as comfortable, it does the job and doesn't fall apart.

Not that small
It's a fine thimble though could do with more dots for the needle to sit in, plus it's still a bit big for my finger. Wouldn't say it's actually small.
