1. Cut out a fabric rectangle 60cm x 90cm. Fold over the top 4cm of one long edge and press. Fold over the top again, tuck in 1cm of each edge, and press. Sew along the bottom of the fold, creating a channel for the cord.
2. Fold the fabric in half, with right sides together, and sew along the long edge and short edge opposite the channel. Do not sew over the end of the channel, but leave open. Turn the right side out and press.
3. The sack can now be decorated. Cut out the shapes for the angel in felt and glue to the front of the sack.
4. Make the angel hair by cutting some 20cm lengths of wool. Use a piece of wool to tie the lengths together in the middle. Use two more pieces of wool to tie the hair into pigtails and stitch in place. The eyes and mouth can be added with felt or fabric paint.
5. Add a line of beads to the dress by securing a piece of cotton at the starting point. Thread the beads onto this length of cotton and secure it at the other end. Secure the beads to the fabric with a small stitch every 5th or 6th bead.
6. Stitch marabou trim to the bottom edge of the sack.
7. Thread the cord through the channel at the top of the sack and tie in a knot. It is easier to thread the cord if a safety pin is attached to the end.
8. Glue on sequins to decorate the rest of the Christmas sack.
