Spring Daisy Gift Box

  How To Make

1. Remove the lid of the box and draw around it onto a sheet of fuchsia foam. Cut out the shape and glue to the lid.

2. Paint the lower half of the box with fuchsia acrylic paint and allow to dry.

3. Measure the depth of the rim of the lid and cut out a strip of yellow foam to fit around the rim. Glue into place.

4. From white foam cut out approximately 22 petals of varying sizes in a teardrop shape and add some detail to them using a blue pencil. Cut 6 long leaf shapes from green foam and add detail to them using a green marker pen.

5. Mark a centre point on the lid and using a compass and pencil draw a circle 1cm in diameter. Starting with the leaves, glue three to one edge of the circle and three to the opposite edge of the circle using the picture as a guide.

Handy Tip Tip: Only glue the very end of each leaf and petal to the lid, so that they are not stuck rigid to the top of the lid.

6. Next glue a layer of petals around the entire edge of the circle overlapping the leaves as you go. Repeat with another layer of petals until you have used up all your petals.

7. Use a heat gun to apply a gentle heat to the petals. Watch as the petals start to curl. Remove the heat and whilst the foam is still warm bend one or two of the petals and hold until cooled.

8. From yellow foam cut out a circle approximately 2cm in diameter. Cut a slit to the centre of the circle and glue the circle so it forms a cone shape, by overlapping the edges. Use a green marker pen to add dots around the edge of the cone shape.

9. Cut out squares of green foam, enough to fit evenly around the bottom half of the box. Glue them around the edge of the box with equal spacing left in-between. Cut out the same number of daisy flower shapes from white foam and small circles from yellow foam and glue these to the side of the box on top of the green squares, using the picture as a guide
