Beaded Bridal Alice Band

  How To Make

1. Carefully peel the decorative binding away from the inside of the Alice band leaving the last 3cm at each end in place.

2. Cut seven 8cm pieces of opal ribbon and six 8cm pieces of light orchid ribbon. Beginning in the centre with a piece of opal ribbon, pin the ribbons around the Alice band so that they overlap at the back. Trim the ribbons if required and oversew to secure.

3. Bring a threaded needle out at the edge of the Alice band next to the edge of the first ribbon. Thread on 13 beads alternating between crystal and lilac. Stitch into the alice band at the other edge and then work back along the string of beads stitching between each bead to couch down.

4. Add strings of beads between the ribbons around the Alice band adding extra beads as the width increases.

5. Stick the decorative ribbon back over the raw edges on the inside using fabric glue or double-sided tape.
