For the chicken:

2. Cut out chicken shapes from your chosen colours of felt, using the template provided.

3. Sew the two pieces of the basic egg cosy template together, sewing in the chicken comb at the top and the beak at one side leaving the straight side open.

4. Add the two "collar" pieces by sewing them along the two straight sides of your open edge.

For the rabbit:

5. Cut out the rabbit shapes from your chosen colours of felt.

6. Stick the inner ears on top of the outer ears and leave to dry.

7. Sew the two pieces of the basic egg cosy template together, sewing in the ears at the top, leaving the straight side open.

8. For each animal add facial features using coloured felt, wobbly eyes and chenille stems. These can be glued on using fabric glue. Use the pictures as a guide.

9. Add extra detail to the chicken by drawing in the beak shape with a black marker or felt tip pen. Use the picture as a guide.

Handy Tip Tip: If you don't want to use a needle and thread, fabric glue applied in moderation can be used to stick together your egg cosies, although they will be more durable if they are sewn.
