Pop-Up Tree Card

  How To Make

1. Mark the positions of 1cm wide tree trunks on the right side of a card blank, along the spine. Place the first trunk 4cm in from one side edge and the other 3cm in from the opposite side edge.

2. From these marks draw lines at right angles to the fold. Draw the lines at the 4cm-marks 25mm long, and the ones at the 3cm-marks 18mm long.

3. Cut along the four lines, through both the back and front of the card blank. Open the card out flat and push the tree trunk supports in so that they fold against the foldline in the opposite direction i.e. towards the inside of the card. Close the card back up and crease the card at the top of each slot where the trunk supports fold inwards.

4. Using the decorative-edged scissors cut two triangular tree shapes from card, making one about 9cm tall and the other 8cm. Using Glue Dots decorate the trees with sequins.

5. Cut two 1 x 4cm tree trunks from card.

6. Open the card blank out flat and draw a wavy line along both the back and front sections, using the photograph as a guide. Cut the card along the wavy lines.

7. Fold one side of the card up to 90 degrees so that the tree supports stand up inside. Using Glue Dots stick the trunks to the front of the tree supports, and then stick the decorated trees to trunks.

8. Stick the card with trees to the inside of a white card blank using Glue Dots.

9. Finally, stick snowflakes to the card behind the trees and on the ground below them and stick a 3D star to the top of each tree with a Glue Dot.
