Tie-Dye T-Shirt

  How To Make

  1. Wash the fabric and leave it damp. Lay it out flat, pinch up the centre and pull up into a cone shape. Using string, bind tightly at intervals from the cone centre downward.

  2. Select a dye and empty the contents of the pack in the dry drum of the washing machine.

  3. Place 500g of salt on top of the dye.

  4. Place the tied damp fabric on top of the dye and salt and run a 40°C cotton programme.

  5. Once this has completed, add washing detergent and wash the fabric in another 40°C cotton cycle.

  6. Take the fabric out of the machine and remove the string. Allow to dry naturally.

  7. Add more detergent and run the machine whilst empty at 40°C to ensure that any excess dye is removed.

Hints/Tips:
Use black dye on white for a powerful eye-catching contrast!
