New Janome Sewing Machine!
I have just received this so haven’t used it much yet. It is good looking, quite light and the handle on top is a helpful feature when putting into bag. It is easy to thread and take out and insert bobbin and sews quite quietly. I am looking forward to using it properly soon. It seems pretty simple especially being a mechanical machine . I am a techno phobe so did not want a computerised one and besides not having done an awful lot of sewing in the past, this machine is perfect for me. The bag looks really sturdy and you also get a plastic cover for when not in use, so all in all very happy and would recommend if you don’t want a computerised machine.

Good but some issues
I bought this machine since the layout was similar to my previous one, it was simple and seemed able to do what I needed. The metal casing was a bonus since I know I have had issues with breaking plastic casing.
It wasn't hard to set up. Unfortunately I immediately encountered a problem with the needle hitting the bobbin case - the needle stopped and it made a grinding noise so I quickly investigated. I tried taking the bobbin out, resetting the needle... everything I tried worked for a while but every now and again the needle catches the case.
It's possible to sew things but it's frustrating on a new machine. I'm hoping this issue is a one off glitch with this machine, covered by warranty. But it may be a design issue, and I think it's worth checking.

Alleviated all fear of sewing!
Having never been interested in learning to sew, (to which I blame my school days for), slowly I have become fascinated in the thought of doing some craft work involving a sewing machine. At the age of 65 I bought the Janome HC1200 on the recommendation from the very knowledgeable young man working at HobbyCraft. He explained the basic working of the machine, taught me how to fill a bobbin and thread the machine. He encouraged me to trial run a few stitches. After taking it home, I couldn't wait to get it up and running. It was so easy to thread up again as numbered 'markers' are embossed on the machines body to guide you along. It runs very smoothly and quietly and has alleviated all fear of sewing! At the moment I am only using the basic stitches but can't wait to experiment more when I have mastered a few more techniques. A great asset.

A top rated gift
I brought this as a birthday gift for my sister and she absolutely loves it. Straight forward to use, good quality machine and good starter accessories. She loves it so much that I'm getting myself one. They are also so many accessories and products to use that it's all under one roof. The staff at the Maybird shop were so helpful, friendly and polite. Thankyou hobbiecraft for the services given.

Excellent piece of kit
I bought this to replace my lovely old machine which served me well until I dropped it when I was recovering from the corona virus . ( not only smashing up the machine but my face in the process, leaving tooth marks in the machine cover!!. I was going to make face coverings for my colleague s working in the nhs . ( so much for doing a good turn ! )
Anyway now I can get cracking to make some . The machine is easy to use and has some similar features of my old Janome machine .

Great for beginners!
I am a complete beginner and this is my first ever sewing machine. I found it really easy to set-up and much quieter then I was expecting.
I have yet to use all of the features, but everything I have used it for so far has been sewn perfectly and with ease.

Sewing machine
My recent purchase , a new sewing machine is lovely and easy to use especially after struggling for so long with a very old machine which was over thirty years old. I’m looking forward to creating some new clothes and things for our house, i’m very pleased with my purchase and would recommend buying one.

Nice and easy to use
It is great to get back into using a sewing machine again. My new Janome sewing machine is so light and easy to use, It is great. As I love inventions and this machine with the variety of stitch’s, will assist with my creativity In designing and making lots of useful things, as well as the basic sewing. It is quiet and runs smoothly.
