poorly labelled but cheap
These are a great time waster. Inserting batteries should take moments - it's common sense, after all. However, they won't work. You will waste time looking and feeling for a plastic strip to remove, only to discover that the instructions are wrong as there isn't one. Then you'll end up taking them back to the store, to discover there's nothing wrong but you have to fold down a metal tab to create a contact. If you lack telepathic powers or an engineering degree it's better to pay a bit for sensible design. Even the shop staff are annoyed and frustrated by this item. The only plus is that they are as cheap as they look.

Fine tealights, great price
At first we thought these didn't work, then we realised the metal flap in the battery compartment needed to be bent up to go up the side of the battery rather than underneath it as it was when we got it! The tea lights have a yellowish flickering light which is quite pleasant. Also very cheap. Have yet to see how long the batteries will last!

Not Worth It
The batteries come separate with these which isn’t a problem in itself. The candle is already in the on position and therefore comes on immediately when the battery is inserted. Again, not a problem in itself. The problem is using the switch to turn it off again. It will not budge and this is the same for all four of the candles in the pack. The only way to turn it off is to take out the battery. While doing this the little tab on the battery cover of two of them snapped straight off and I had to resort to a thin blade knife to get the battery out. I bought them on a day out in Tamworth which is a long way from where I live, otherwise I would’ve taken them back. They’ve gone straight in the bin. Waste of money.

Bad
The led lights don't even work I have tried with other batteries but that still does not make a difference. I suggest you get a different pack

Good basic tea-lights for the money.
Really good value, quite long lasting, yellow "flame" light. The first ones we bought didn't work so we took them back to Hobbycraft, and a very helpful member of staff showed us how to bend the little metal contact strip inside, then they worked perfectly. The battery cover is a bit flimsy and on a few lights was difficult to close with the battery in place, but it's okay if you're careful. Overall very good value. We bought 24 in the summer for a family wedding party, and some more this Christmas.

Tea lights
Once I found out that the little metal tab has to be bent upright they work really well and simple to turn on and off

Night Lights
When purchased thought they were no good, but a note explaining "make sure side terminals touch batteries when inserted " would be helpful on the packet.
