When it comes to model-building, Revell are the old kids on the block, having inspired many youngsters into enthusiasts as early as 1945 with models such as this Model Set F-15 E Strike Eagle.
Having started with draftsman Bob Reder and a set of model ships under the company name Monogram, the craze of building models sparked worldwide. This inspired plastics businessman Lewis Glaser to start up Revell. The company produced a range of different items, one of which was the pull toy cars. The cables could be detached so that the toys could be put up on display, giving Glaser the motivation to develop buildable model kits.
The Strike Eagle is a tough, well known construct with a design that was intended for air superiority. Since its first flight in 1972, the Eagle can maintain high altitudes and can do fast, tight turns due to its high-thrust outputs.
