When it comes to model-building, Revell are the old kids on the block, having inspired many youngsters into enthusiasts as early as 1945 with models such as this Messerschmitt BF-109 Model Kit.
Having started with draftsman Bob Reder and a set of model ships under the company name Monogram, the craze of building models sparked worldwide. This inspired plastics businessman Lewis Glaser to start up Revell. The company produced a range of different items, one of which was the pull toy cars. The cables could be detached so that the toys could be put up on display, giving Glaser the motivation to develop buildable model kits.
Spitfires and Hurricanes met their match against the Messerschmitt during the Battle of Britain. Since its first flight in 1935, it became the standard air-fighter for the Luftwaffe. This kit has everything that you need to replicate one of modern war's flying titans, including historical decals and a set of paints.
