Surprisingly sturdy.
Measures about 5mm in thickness. Dense foam, with a layer of card on each side. I bought two in order to make a Magic The Gathering game board. I cut some holes in one, glued it onto the second and lined the holes with self adhesive felt. The result is a very sturdy gaming board. Could also be used as a picture frame, or even scenery; walls, stairs, etc. Easy to cut with a sharp craft knife.

Light but very sturdy board
Good size board, light but sturdy, used for attaching photo's and messages on a funeral wake tribute. It looked great and was stiff and strong enough to stand up without much support, very pleased with this product and not too expensive.

Perfect for a table plan
I used this black board to create a table plan for my wedding, it was the perfect size and strong enough to stand up on it's own. It looked much better than card.

Does not do as advertised
So I purchased the two large boards in question as it clearly says on the label can be used with acrylic paints, this was not the case, when my kids started to paint on them they started to absorb the paint as if the boards were overly pour-us, they then warped heavily and the top layer started to come away, the second board I used oils and turned out great.
Please understand this is by no means a complaint, just that the advise on the packaging in clearly incorrect.
