Great product, perfect for cake tiering
This is a fantastic product and does everything you require it to. The stoppers on the top of the dowls add extra support and spread the weight well. The dowls cut to size very easily and being purple they are food safe and easily identifiable. Used on two three and four tier cakes with success.
Great product and would highly recommend for all cake makers

Pleasantly surprised
I planned to use wooden inside these hollow dowels as I was worried they wouldn't be strong enough, however I felt the caps distributed the weight of the tier above much better than dowels on their own and they offered good support without needing the wooden dowels.

Great support
Loved these, easy to cut and great support for a tiered cake. Easy to retrieve after too. Easy to clean with small brush used for piping nozzles.

Excellent, strong and great value
I use these supports every time I bake a multiple tier cake. You get a lot of support rods in the pack so one pack will be enough for multiple two-tier cakes. The rods are very strong and the caps spread the weight of the tier above. You will need support boards for in between the tiers to rest on the caps. The rods can be a little tough to cut but I cut mine with normal kitchen scissors. I wouldn’t buy any other rods as these are excellent.

Plastic dowel supports
The cake supports were good, we had to put a wooden dowel through 1 plastic dowel which went through the centre of 2 cakes. We did this as the Wedding Cake was being transported nearly 200miles away & we wanted to make sure the cake stayed still which it did. The plastic circles were good because they covered the bottom of the board more than just the tubes.

Not as good as hoped
The dowels were very difficult to cut and left a jagged broken edge. They also did not fit easily/fully into the caps so I had to cut to size twice to account for the gap where the dowel could not be fully inserted. They served their purpose well in the end but I probably would not buy again.

Cake rods fantastic
I always buy these supports, for my cakes.
They are very sturdy and do the job just fine. Perfect for tiered cakes. They stop the cakes from crushing one another. I won’t use anything else now. They give me confidence that my cakes will withstand the extra weight put upon them.
