Good value but quite small
Bought this for my son to make a 3D earth cake for school (as you do!). Was a little concerned that we wouldn’t be able to get the cake out of the semi circle tins once cooked but this wasn’t a problem (a little gentle persuasion around the edge with a knife and cane out perfectly!).
My only criticism is that while the leaflet gave great ideas for different cake decorating styles, it didn’t give much help on what sort of cake or most importantly how much mixture to make!!
We had a trial and error approach; first time we only had enough mixture for one tin and then that took so much longer to cook than planned!
The ball is fairly small so wouldn’t feed loads if a birthday cake, but this isn’t an issue for us as only a model for school!

Great cake pan
After my son said he wanted a football shaped cake, I thought of Hobbycraft. At £11, I thought it was a little pricy. You need to prepare the two tins well to stop sticking. The instructions for the quantities of cake mixture aren’t that great but I decided to go with what I thought would be the right amount and see. I think a recipe using 9oz butter, sugar, flour and four eggs split between the two tins worked out pretty well.

Ball baking tray
Bought it on Saturday and made a fantastic Pokemon ball. Followed instructions and came away from tray beautifully round wish I could attach a photo of cake

3D ball cake tin
These tins are amazing, they come with a little stand so that the tins don't topple over. They don't lose there shape and are just brilliant. I have made a few cakes with these tins including football, basketballs and even a turtle shell. Highly recommended this store for selling great tins and products.

Does what it says on the tin
My first impression of the cake tin was that it was fairly cheaply made and thin. However I cannot complain with the finished result. My cake came out the tin perfectly and was a great sphere shape. The stands also made it easy to bake.

Will take a bit if getting used to
The tins are great but the instructions are a bit difficult as it's an American brand. I had no idea how much cake batter to use in each pan, and the instructions weren't all that helpful as they refer to cups etc. It said to bake for 25-30 mins but I had to bake them for 40mins, and they weren't filled to the top, so it would have taken longer

Great product!
Thought this was just the right size for the football cake I was requested! Comes with own stands so they sit perfectly in the oven.
Comes with full instructions and decorating ideas.

Really useful product but could use better instructions on quantity of cake batter and how to adjust cooking times to account for depth of cake. Maybe include an example recipe?
