This machine is sturdy, easy to use and I like the fact that I can control the pressure of the rollers. It also folds up into some thing I can manage to move.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SophG I've returned the item and bought something better
Having bought this to cut out a cracker die to make my wedding favours I was excited to get the Xcut home. All sets up incredibly easy, clear instructions. I was excited to see the first cracker cut out. After setting the roller dial to the correct height for the cardstock I was using, imagine my disappointment when it came out the otherside to find it had only cut around the edges. After trying the rollers at different heights and also a much thinner standard stock of paper it still wouldn't cut down the middle. I did some online research with the company who makes this and it seems many people are experiencing the same thing.
I returned the Xcut to my local store, where I couldn't have asked for a better service. The lady behind the till didn't hesitate to refund me and when I asked what other machines they had that would cut an A4 die she kindly went to get one you had out the back to demo how this different branded one works (Bigshot). Much better, worked a treat, less struggle to actually feed the die through and clear cutting blocks makes for easy lining up. A little more expensive but when I was able to cut out 8 crackers in 10 mins versus 0 in the hour or two before well worth it.

This machine is so easy to use, getting the right pressure for different dies is a doddle:just turn the dial on top. The ability to take size A4 paper is a real plus. It looks sleek and folds down easily for neat storage. A good buy.

I had not tried die cutting before, but when I decided to take the plunge I am glad that I decided on this machine. It greatest points are: packing away neatly, a real space saver! The adjustable hight, this means that you can use any die from any range! The A4 size it great too.
While the cutting mats do degrade slowly, it states this clearly in the instructions, and I just bought a few more mats and have them stached away to get out when needed. Its something I factored into the costs of die cutting anyway.
I do recommend playing around with the depth settings, I found that very intricate dies needed just slightly more pressure than stated, so that they cut cleanly on the second pass, but simple dies work with much more latitude.
For very thick dies like the ranger/tim holtz ones, I used the metal shim as the base board and then put the die on top, with the cutting mat above as normal, the height adjusted fine and cut well on the first pass.
Not tried embossing yet, as that does not interest me as much. but overall very happy with this product indeed.

Little disappointed as I expected the new feature of lifting the rollers up and down to change pressure, to give quicker and more successful cutting down the centre of machine.... with some more intricate dies..... but other aspects are as I expected..1st time to use an A4 size die cutting machine. Liking size.. thankyou...

Great die cutter and embosser - adjustable rollers so not restricted to what you can use - i've used a lino cut to print and also emboss

The X Cut is just what I needed as I do so much card crafting. It embosses & cuts really easily & only using 2 plates. The tension wheel on the top is very easily adjusted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LazyPaws Cuts nice and easy to use
I make gifts to raise funds for rescue dogs. I had some card craft stock donated to help raise funds, I have never made cards or used dies before.
As a complete novice I picked a cutter that was adjustable because I don't know the types or makes of the dies I have. Straight from the box it was easy to set up and use, the guide for the pressure settings was very useful.
I have only used it 30 / 40 times but I have found it easy to use and it has cut well every time. Very pleased with this purchase.
Only given 4 stars because I don't know how it will stand up over time but for a novice like me it has been a real pleasure to use.

I've had this a couple of weeks and it seems to be working well. Clear cutting plate would be an improvement.
Works with all the dies I have tried.
