Cake box
I shop at hobbycraft for most of my cake boards and boxes however I think that the boxes hobbycraft supply could be a bid taller in height most cake makers these days make each tier at least five inch high so by the time you get the icing and toppers into the cake the lid doesn’t fit without squashing the cake and they don’t sell extension kits to make the box taller apart from that they are sturdy boxes

Not so good
Unfortunately this box is very flimsy and is not really the sort of thing you want to carry a special cake in - better to use an ordinary postage box! There is no description on the packaging to show that all it contains is a lid and box without any innards to hold the cake as you would get if you bought something similar from an online cake making specialist. I suppose I should have know from the fact that it was thin cardboard and also much cheaper than the specialist version. It's really only good enough for present wrapping!

Great Customer Service @ Milton Keynes Store
I had picked up a 12" box in error and on returning home realised that is was not big enough. Purchased from the Woking store and returned to Milton Keynes (as was working in the area), I did not have my receipt to hand, but the lovely lady was happy to exchange and allow me to pay the difference between a 12" and 14" white cake box. As for the product, clean, easy to assemble and fit for purpose. Win-win, could not ask for a better solution!

Weak, cannot handle a cake this size.
A poor quality product, especially considering any 12-14" inch cake is clearly going to need a stable board and box. Total lack of understanding regarding the use of this box, please consult bakers who deliver this size regularly. I only bought this size as I was in a pinch, but never again, the cake was not safe in this box and we just about managed to deliver the wedding cake, despite keeping each layer separate.

Easy to use but quite flimsy
The box assembles well but the card is quite thin - not a problem for smaller size boxes but for the 14" box this leaves it quite bendy in the middle of the sides, increasing the chance of catching your cake. Does the job, just have to be careful when carrying! Expensive for what it is but I needed it on short notice so didn't have time to order online from my usual place so I was glad Hobbycraft have this size!

As good as a cake box could be
The actual product is fine, exactly what you imagine a cake box should be. Easy to assemble and take down for ease of getting the cake in and out of the box. The only down side is that it is quite expensive and I only bought it from here on this occasion as I didn't have a chance to go to my usual cake shop where the boxes are much much cheaper

very over priced cake box
Cake boxes are very overpriced for what they are. Especially as the flaps do fit them together very well without ripping. Am a very regular customer to Hobby craft as I have a cake business but have now found cheaper so unfortunately won't be shopping there quite as much as definitely not price/quality effective.

Does everything a cake box should!
The box folds out very easily with nothing complicated to sort out. The size is a perfect and spot on as advertised. Quality cardboard so there is a little give in it as expected but is strong enough and works brilliantly for presenting and moving my cake around. Great product especially for the price!
