Of the pack of 16 brooch pins, 2 of the pins wouldn't open. I phoned my local branch and they told me to come in to the store, where they gave me 2 replacement pins. If you're not going to be close to the store once you start crafting with these, it might be worth buying more pins than you need just in case.
Most of the pins were fine but a few were stiff or wonky or wouldn't open at all. However, when they do work, these are great for making brooches. You can sew the pin onto fabric or felt by threading through the holes.

Perfect.
Have made some brooches before using the smaller brooch back which I found a little fiddly to undo the catch mechanism. Probably because I couldn't see it!! These are just right and big enough for me to see the catch! Have made some poppy brooches this year will be putting my money in the box when I see the collectors. Easy to sew onto material.

Very strong & a good replacement for broken brooch clasps.
I used this product to replace a brooch bar on my Nan's brooch. I stuck it on using double sided foam strips. It is very strong & secure. Very impressed. Good price. And my Nan is able wear her brooch again

Don't buy this item
I bought 3 packets of this item to make Christmas brooches to sell for charity. Bitterly disappointed with this product. Several of the brooch pins were broken and nearly all of the pins were bent. I couldn't take them back to the store as the Christmas brooches were needed for a charity stall the next day so I had to make do and try to straighten the pins. I will go to The Range next time I want some more brooch making stock.

Great product for your craft stash
I find this product really useful as the holes in the back bar make it easy to apply to many different surfaces. I have sewn the broach pins onto fabrics and I have also attached them to plastics with a glue gun. A little of the glue usually comes through the holes but that seems to hold the broach pin better.

Not perfect
On the whole this product was fine, however one item has a piece missing and two others were so stiff that they cannot be opened so three out of the sixteen are completely useless. Maybe Hobbycraft can advise on what they can do to rectify the problem both for me now and for customers in the future?

Good quality, good price
I had bought some brooch bars online from another retailer, but they were poor quality and unsuitable. I am glad that Hobbycraft only sells good quality products. It is also nice to be able to go into the store and see the products in order to assess the quality

Just right!!
Decided to try something alittle different & bought these, abit fiddly if you have problems with your hands like me but the finished product looks great & you forget about the fiddly bit that was annoying you at the start.
