Using Impasto Gel
Bought this for a purpose it wasn't really designed for; to texture transparent plastic bases for small model ships. The models ships are about 5cm long and mounted on rectangles of of clear plastic sheet. I bought the impasto gel to try and give the bases a bit of a wave like texture. It worked really well! The gel is thick, but goes on easily using a slightly dampened and fairly coarse brush. Gently applying the gel gave a nice wave like pattern. The gel is white, but dries completely transparent, so a little over application wouldn't matter. The brushes washed easily in water. I think that it would also be very good for its intended purpose, of providing a similar texture to paintings. Very pleased with it.

Great body
I’ve used many brands of gel medium over the years. This one does all that I needed it to do, adds a great smooth body to my acrylic paint. I use it for large scale but can also work for small projects. Can offer beautiful translucency and layering or just add body.
Happy with the product and would buy again.

Important component of mixed media artwork
I have been using the Cryla Impasto Gels for many years. In mixed media work they can be used with stencils to create invisible texture under glass paint.
