Excellent watercolour paper
This paper is excellent and manages to laugh off watercolour washes without buckling. I tend to use a border of low tack masking tape around the area that I am working on. I also used Pebio drawing gum on some areas that I wanted to remain white and this came off without any damage to the paper surface. However, when it came time to remove the low tack masking tape; that did pull off some of the surface of the paper. This didn’t actually bother me as I just removed the border with a scalpel, but is perhaps something to be aware of.

Beautiful paper
Hobbycraft was the only place in Reading where I could find hot press watercolour paper. I'd never used this paper before but it looked similar to the bockingford I had been using so decided to try it. The paper takes washes well, is lovely and thick and works well with fineliners.

Daler Rowney Langton Watercolour Hot-Pressed Paper 41cm x 31cm
Was recommended to use this when sketching at the V&A - very pleased with the results. Paper doesn't show any evidence of marks when mistakes are erased which is a huge bonus!

The Langton Hot Press paper pad
Beautifully smooth hot press paper, the weight / thickness of the paper makes it ideal for watercolour. The paper can stand repeated wet washes without buckling.

About the product.
This is the first time I have used this paper. It doesn't appear to be hot rolled but is still smooth and easy to use.

A good middle priced paper
I use this paper for mixed media work as it will take a certain amount of water and its smooth surface is excellent. I've tried it for watercolours and it does buckle a little, so a top end of the range brand is probably better for serious watercolour work, but when I'm experimenting this paper is perfect.
