Derwent Inktense Block Tin is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be careful how you use this product I recently bought a tin of derwent intense blocks and was really excited to try them out. A word of warning though, they will stain your fingers if you have any moisture on them. That said, I thought I would try to rub them into the little side pallets thinking they were like Japanese/Chinese ink blocks. Oops I broke a block in half putting too much pressure on! The quality of the colour was reasonable. They seemed to work better used as a pastel and then blended with water. Some quite nice results. Give this a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These crayons give a really good strong colour I was recently introduced to these to use on fabric and have tested them out today. They are lovely to use (a bit messy on the hands but I expected that) and give a lovely strong colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inktastic These Derwent inktense blocks can be used like crayons/pastels then when water is applied they turn into an ink effect. Or you can use them with a wet brush to apply like paint. Really versatile as apparently can be used on material too. Great vibrant colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile medium Loving the creative potential of these. They can be used on fabric too. Very strong colours, can be diluted or mixed. The range of colours in the tin provides a good basic palette, but not all of them are to my liking. Would like to buy extra colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent These ink sticks give a deeper colour than the pencils and so have slightly different uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vivid Colours that blend well These have a good consistency and blend well on the paper. Use water and they become even better. Either dilute directly on the paper or use a wet brush to pick up pigment off the block.I also have the pencils which are very good but I would say these are even better. The colours are so vibrant. Will definitely be buying more when these have been used up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pigment The colours are as bold as on the tin and dont change overtime. Brilliant for vibrant works of art .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Colours not bright as advertised Loved the vibrant colours on the listing, especially the purple and blue. Ventured to store to purchase them. Noticed when at home that the tin design completely different, thought maybe the design had changed. In fact the whole thing was not as advertised, different design and the colours inside are very dull. Very disappointed. Called the store, unable to return as i removed the plastic. Advised they change the listing online as it is nothing like the product being sold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the bright colours. I love these blocks, they have the brightness And permanence of ink but are easy to use either by using them on the paper and dissolving them with a wet paintbrush or by using them like a paint pan by dipping a wet brush into them and painting with them as you would watercolour pans.
