Leaves a sticky residue on hands and paper
I am actually quite disappointed with Derwent - although I use many of their other products (pencils etc.), I personally don't think this putty rubber lives up to the brand quality. I've found that when using this putty rubber, I have a horrid, sticky residue left on my fingers (and then have to wash my hands before continuing with the art work again). It does lift the graphite from the page, but again, it is leaving a slight residue on the paper, which is then interfering with the new layer of pencil I'm trying to put down. I've persevered with it - assuming it needed to dry out a little, but actually, I'll be reverting back to the Hobbycraft branded putty rubbers which come in simple packaging as a pack of 2 but they're better value and better quality in terms of achieving a good graphite removal without leaving a horrible residue on my hands or the paper.

This product is perfect.
I bought this to lighten and erase small areas without smudging the pencil and it does exactly that. I will say if your looking to erase large areas buy a standard eraser or a larger kneadable eraser.

Picks up graphite well.
Good kneadable quality, not too firm, which picks up the graphite well. Doesn't get 5 stars as I would have liked it to provide a slightly cleaner result.

An eraser that works for the artist.
When you need a good putty rubber - one that sucks up the graphite and is so kneadable that you want to play with it and sniff it too... then you know you have the right tool for the job. Excellent quality and performance.

Lasts ages
Lovely white eraser that cleans pencil off easily & cleanly. This eraser also seems to last quite a while even with regular usage & marks wash off it nicely to keep it fresh on new work, not many smudges.

Too Soft
Like using a putty rubber as it removes cleanly and precisely. However, I found that this one was too much like putty, very soft and got really black quickly, had to bin after a few hours drawing.

This product is a must
The Derwent kneadable eraser is indispensable particularly when working with charcoal. I’ve got so used to it that I can’t work without it. It’s brilliant for touching up highlight areas.

Hobbycraft is a great shop
I bought the pliable rubber because it is useful for watercolour paper and it doesn't tear the paper as ordinary rubbers can do. I cannot do without it!
