Fabulous but expensive.
I've wanted these for a long time, as I've seen the effects they give st my art class. I haven't been disappointed, the intensity of the colours is superb, you can even use them on black paper and they still glow. They blend easily but without the usual mess associated with pastels.
I can't say (unfortunately) that they've improved my artistic skills but they certainly make my art look more defined and stronger.

Great pencils, nice selection of colours, quite a hard pastel
Bought these as I wanted to try out pastel pencils, so far have not been disappointed. They're quite a hard pastel which for my purposes is a good thing as I like to work with a lot of detail. Price was about right, they can be a little cheaper online but getting something like this via the post would result in lots of snapped leads.
Worth the purchase.

Derwent 24 pastel pencils, pastel stumps
I used pastels many years ago, I wasn’t aware there were pastel pencils until recently as I came across others great work where they have used them, I thought I’d like to give them a try. Love the colours of these pastels they blend nicely with the paper stumps, I like the way they have the names of the colours stamped on them exactly the same as paints. The only problem I have found is about 3-4 of them started to break once I sharpened them, I’m not sure whether this is due to not having a pastel pencil sharpener or whether the pastels are too soft, so I’m going to try a blade and invest in a pastel pencil sharpener. I am however surprised hobbycraft don’t seem to sell the individual pastel pencils so that you can replace the colours you will use more instead of having to buy another set or search elsewhere to replace them, which is a little disappointing

Fabulous colours
Great colour range. Whatever you do, do NOT spray with fixative as this destroys the colour intensity. .however good the fixative is.
