lovely charcoal pencils
Enjoyed using these very much and easy to control colour, although I am not sure how essential it is to have the different charcoal colours, but I am new to charcoal, so just practising the principals of light and shade at the moment. Pencils are easy to control. however I think I might have to invest in the charcoal blocks you can buy if you want a generalised black charcoal background, a block provides better coverage quickly and more easily than pencils. However pencils can be used that way also but wear down quicker... perhaps a combination of both pencil and natural block charcoal would work well together.

These charcoal pencils are fab, just what I wanted, and basically what they say they are. Perfect for blending. Downside, a standard pencil sharpener is too small, I had to buy one with 4 sizes, but overall I love them.

Useful variation on straight charcoal.
Unusual spread of shades but basically a variation on brown and grey. Soft in use and easy to blend to subtle shades. Probably best for a blocking in approach rather than line drawing but have only used on white paper so far so left off one star.

Really good quality
I bought these chalk pencils in order to draw with smaller marks as I was finding it difficult with normal chalk pastels. The range of colours were good and the chalks blended nicely whilst still keeping some defined lines. Would reccommend.

Really nice charcoal coloured pencils.
I have always drawn portraits, but normally either coloured pencils or oil paints. I thought I’d give charcoal a go, these were great, really good quality and added a nice bit of colour to the drawing.

Great Pencils
I bought these pencils to use alongside my Derwent Tinted Charcoal paint palette. The two work perfectly together. I find Derwent products are always good quality, and I am never disappointed.

Expensive
Too expensive. I haven’t used them enough yet to see if I like them a lot aside from that. They feel kind of scratchy but I’m a beginner with charcoal so maybe they should be that way.
