I bought two of these in order to have six different thread colours - but of course you could use up any old threads or wools you already have.
The enclosed needle is for Health and Safety but again, you can substitute it if you have a sewing kit at home.
Good for teaching kids basic sewing methods with an achievable good-looking end-result to hang up. Unlike fabric sewing, mistakes are easy to rectify and changes/improvements can easily be made until the desired effect is reached.

Very impressed with the products that I purchased from Hobbycraft.
The items I purchased from hobbycraft where for my grandchildren to make Easter bonnets and to decorate and paint the Easter bunny.

Lovely product
A well-made product that is a great way for children to develop their fine motor control - my 4 and 7 year olds were able to use the plastic needle easily to 'sew' and enjoyed the activity. Made a nice present for grandma.

Love the wooden threading kit
my 5 year old love doing it its safe kids enjoy learning new stitches colourfull thread make more excited its safe for little hand because needle is plastic it give confidence to put thread in loved it money well spend

great for new crafters
this item was bought to introduce a young crafter. the colours were great put together and the plastic needle ideal.this elephant was painted too (though good without) prior to stitching and it turned out fab.
