Rated 1 out of 5 by from Donna999 I may have had a faulty ball of wool but it was frayed in places and the black fibre which give the wool it's Gray cloud effect ended up mostly in my lap as I was knitting and even more so if I had to undo a row or two. Basically I ended up with mostly white coloured wool. Going to return the other ball of wool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Arran wool is great to knit and crochet with. Purchased hayfield Arran tweed wool for the first time and for by great value it has knitted up lovely. Knitted 3 Arran cardigans for my grandsons the wool also washed up great. Have started crocheting with the rest of the wool and is coming along a treat

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flecks of black come away whilst knitting so you end up covered in bits of black on your clothes and furniture! I would not buy this wool again as it sheds the black flecks when you are knitting. It looks nice when it is made up but i wonder if you will be covered in black bits when it is worn!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wool review Good wool to handle and work with however took me ages to untangle the strands from balls without real labels. The shelves are too narrow causing bands to pop off. The wool then becomes unwoven from ball and knotted. Buy wool with original bands still on and check materials with other balls of same make.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Annoyed! Halfway through knitting the back of my cardigan the wool became thin as if a thread had been lost, kept going and just as I finished the back the wool regained its original thickness. Hopefully wont make too much difference to the overall finish however very annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully soft Knits up beautifully and you can feel how warm it is. I'm knitting a pramsuit for an Easter baby, although it won't be used till next autumn/winter. Not scratchy so won't irritate delicate skin. Totally delighted with the quality and price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value yarn This yarn is a lovely colour and extremely good value for money. However, the texture and feel of the yarn when knitted up is quite coarse so might be uncomfortable if worn next to the skin, eg as a scarf or hat.
