Lovely to work with
This wool feels very soft and yet garments can be machine washed and tumble dried and come out looking as new as when they were first made. It is resistant to splitting when knitting or crocheting and performs just as well as more expensive brands.

Surprisingly soft yarn

Very poor product
To say Hayfield is an established company, I was very disappointed with this wool. I know it is an extra value product, but to find mixed coloured fibres in the baby wool I feel is unacceptable.
I normally knit from the centre of the ball to stop the wool travelling all over when knitting. Firstly getting the wool to flow was a real problem, it knotted and was really difficult to get it to flow, an absolute pain having to stop mid row to unravel over and over again.
I have just finished the baby matinee jacket to find as I lifted it to the light, there's a mixed fibre thread running right on the right front! It wasn't noticeable when knitting...(I did cut two parts out when I spotted them, which makes more ends to stitch in!!)!. All that hard work for nothing...I can't gift this jacket now. A total disappointment from start to finish.

Poor quality
I was very disappointed with the 4 ply wool I received from you it was very poor quality. I am making a baby shawl which is quite large. I always join new balls at the end of a row. The wool had loads of knots and areas where the wool went very thin followed by a chunky piece. When this happens I have to unpick the row and go back to the start. I have never had such poor quality before.

Reasonable price good quality
Easy to knit Keeps it's shape Washes well provided you follow washing instructions. I used it for a shawl. If you are knitting a loose weave I recommend popping the knitted or crocheted item into a pillowcase before putting it in the washing machine. In this way the item keeps it's shape. Dry it flat and put it into shape before drying.

The everyday knit craft DK I have used to knit an outfit for a baby doll which was excellent value at £1 a 50g ball . I am extremely pleased with the finished article

I very much enjoy knitting baby clothes for my friends and family members and always use wool from hobbycraft. Ive tried different wools and makes and love this one you cant beat lovely white baby clothes especially the unique ones you make yourself. Fantastic products at fantastic prices.
