Looking for the perfect newborn keepsake? This charming painted wooden heart can be personalised to mark the arrival of a new little one in your life. It's a great gift for new arrivals, christenings and more.

The charming design can be hung in your baby nursery and it features the new baby's name and birthday.

How to make

New Born Keepsake Heart Template.pdf

Step 1

Carefully untie and remove the hanging string. Paint the front and side of the heart with the base colour and leave to dry.

Step 2

Print off the template and trace over the back of the paper with a pencil. This can be done on a lightbox or against a window. Cut the templates out to align easily to the wooden heart. With a pencil gently scribble over the back to transfer a light pencil version of your design onto the surface.

Step 3

Paint in the leaves and flowers, adding in the extra details with the template method if needed.

Step 4

Once dry, pencil in your names and dates, then paint over with either acrylic paint or a paint pen.
