Begin by covering the box with coloured paper. Draw around one of the large sides of the box to create a rectangle. Then add a 1cm wide strip onto each side. Cut this out and fold to create tabs. Make two of these.
Cut a strip of paper that measures the height of the box by the length of your A4 paper.
Turn the box so it’s standing up on it’s side and glue the top and bottom pieces of paper on using the tabs. Add a generous amount of glue to the rest of the box and wrap the strip of paper around it.
Add the camera features on. Glue a bottle top and buttons onto the front for the camera lens. Cut a small piece of card for the view finder and add stickers for extra buttons. Glue another bottle top on top of the camera for the winder.
To add the neck strap, cut a length of ric rac long enough so the camera is at chest height on your child. Use sellotape to attach to each side of the camera and cover the sellotape with stickers.
You could also use contrasting pieces of card when covering the box. Or maybe try adding a wrist strap by cutting a short piece of ribbon, looping it in half and sellotaping it to one side of the camera.
