Heart Keyrings

1. Using a pencil and a piece of paper, draw a heart template and a letter template (if you wish to personalise your keyring).

2. Pin and cut out two large heart pieces from your first fabric and one piece from the batting.

3. Cut a small piece of ribbon, approx. 40cm.

4. Sandwich together the ribbon (folded) the batting and the two heart pieces and pin.

5. Sew around the edge with a zig-zag stitch, change your stitch width to 2 and your stitch length to 1.

6. Take your smaller heart or letter and trace onto the HeatNBond. Remember you will need to mirror any letters.

7. Iron on to the wrong side of the second fabric and cut out.

8. Place the fused fabric shape onto the centre of your sewn heart and iron on gently.

9. Top stitch neatly around the small heart or letter.

10. Attach the keyring to the ribbon at the top.

Gift Card Holders

1. Using a pencil, ruler and paper, draw an envelope template as shown below.

2. Draw around the shape onto a piece of fusible interfacing.

3. Iron onto the wrong side of the outer fabric choice and cut out.

4. Pin the template to the lining fabric and cut out.

5. Pin the pieces right sides together, sandwich in any ribbons or trims you would like to use.

6. Sew both pieces right sides together with a 1cm seam allowance. Leave a gap to be able to turn the fabric through. Clip the corners.

7. Turn through the gap; use a chop stick or a blunt knitting needle to make the corners sharp and press well.

8. Fold to form the envelope shape and edge stitch on both sides, this will also close the gap left earlier.

9. Sew on the snap fastening to the flap and the envelope body.

Heart-Shaped Bookmarks

1. From a piece of paper, create a square template that is 3” x 3”.

2. Take this template and cut out 4 pieces from your fabric.

3. Fold in half diagonally so that they create a triangle.

4. Take a round object; I have used this spool cap. Draw around the shape onto the fabric.

5. Cut along the line; use the first one you do as a template for any others. Unfold and you will have your heart shapes.

6. Place two hearts right sides together and sew with a 0.5cm seam allowance. Leave a small gap to be able to turn the heart through. Snip the sharp point and into the curve to give you a flat finish.

7. Turn through and press well.

8. Repeat again for the other two hearts. Place one heart on top of the other and top stitch the point.

9. Place onto the corner of your favourite page in a book.
