How to Create Applique Wall Art for Rosh Hashanah

How to make
Draw out your template on a sheet of paper making sure the design will fit inside your embroidery hoop.
Top Tip: Start by drawing around the inside of the hoop and then use this as a guide when it comes to knowing how much space you have to create your design.
Trace your design onto HeatnBond, then cut out using a sharp pair of scissors.
Top Tip: If you are using text within your design you will need to reverse the wording.
Choose your background fabric and lay the HeatnBond pieces out to make your design, once again making sure that your design will fit inside the embroidery hoop.
Select different colours of fabric for each of the pieces of the design.
Iron the HeatnBond to the wrong side of your fabric and cut out your design using a sharp pair of fabric scissors.
Lay out all the cut pieces onto your background fabric, once happy with the design, peel off the HeatnBond backing and iron into place follow the instructions on the packaging.
It's then time to embellish or embroider onto your design - you can add as little or as much as you like!
Once the design is complete, gently pull the fabric to ensure it is tight in the hoop frame and secure. Use a simple gathering stitch to neaten the fabric on the back of the frame.
Add a length of ribbon or twine to the top of the hoop and then your project is ready to hang up in your home!
