Milliput Standard Yellow Grey Epoxy Putty 125g

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why get anything else, honestly I use this specifically for making models/miniatures. Extremely versatile, especially when mixed with a little green stuff, plenty of work time before it starts to set by itself, or just bake it at 65°C for 15 minutes and it sets right away. Little dabs of moisture and using small clay-shaping tools can really help with detailed work. Gets a little messy when doing this, but that's to be expected. Make sure you have a rag to wipe your hands on nearby, and lay some kind of mat down to protect your worktop. Gets rock-hard, and is extremely difficult to clean off if allowed to harden!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using Milliput An excellent product. You mix an equal portion of each putty-like stick together until it changes to a single consistent colour, with no streakiness. Apply to item, either to fill gaps, mould a shape. If you wet your fingers, it can help to smooth into shape. I always leave a little ‘pebble’ to set aside. Place Milliput item in a warm place to cure or set, best overnight. You will find that it will have set hard. Check your ‘pebble’ first for hardness. It should bounce or feel like a stone. It will now be water resistant. You can file, drill, or sandpaper your set Milliput. It is very hard after overnight setting. It is NOT a glue! An excellent product, thoroughly recommended for all modellers, and DIY workers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very useful product for model makers - easy to use I have used this material before with some success in producing components for my 1:200 battleship model converting from a 1941 vintage model to a 1945 vintage model with additional fire control positions. (I don't have a 3D printer). It is easy to mould and shape using both hand and machine tools. My score would be five stars but I have not yet found a good way of removing the putty from my fingers! (Maybe I should try rubber gloves). No real need to buy the expensive coloured versions as it takes water based acrylic paints well, with a primer undercoat. Becomes solid in about 2 - 4 hours.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Price of Miliput Epoxy Putty I purchased a pack of Milliput Standard Yellow Grey Two Part Epoxy Putty - price £5.50. I purchased another pack, the same product, from a well-known city centre hardware store - price £2.99. The difference is enough to ensure that I will not be buying anymore of this product from Hobbycraft.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap. Never used this epoxy before. Not quite sure whats going on with it because it's very soft and sticky and I got most of it stuck to my fingers while mixing the two parts together. It can be worked with water so could possible be ok for fine detail. Prefer Magic Sculpt TBH. I'd like to see other 2 pack brands available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good for modelling Easy to shape and gives great results, however some smaller sculpts can chip easily so watch out for that
