Rated 4 out of 5 by from The mini is a good machine for a sturdy straight stitch I bought this machine a few weeks back but I really hoped to get the midi but they had sold out! So I purchased the mini instead as I only needed a straight stitch at the time. Unfortunately It never came with the accessories that it had stated but I still had all the bits I needed to sew so I saved myself the inconvenience of going back to the shop for another one. It’s a good little machine. I’ve sewed some nice pieces for my kids and the stitch has held up really well so far. Super easy to use and super easy to wind bobbins as-well! Great for anyone who’s looking to start out! Overall it’s a good little machine!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did exactly what I needed I bought this on a whim as I'd only gone in for some material to make an angel nativity costume for my daughter. I'm a complete novice, but i saw this and thought I may as well give it a go. It was very easy to set up and then after a few puzzled minutes trying to get the hang of it, I was well on my way to making the costume. It was definitely worth it for such a good price and I have no doubt that I'll use it for many small jobs now! I'd have given it 5 stars, but the only draw back is it is very light and therefore moves around the surface of the table. Some none slip rubber underneath would have been ideal. But overall I'd definitely recommend this for light use or a complete beginner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for beginners or fast & easy use I bought this for my eldest Daughter as her first 'real' sewing machine after years of her wanting to use my normal sized one. I wanted to hone her desire to learn machine sewing, whilst not wasting money on 'you' machines, so when I spotted this little mini one, pre threaded and ready to go, it was the perfect solution. It's lightweight, easy for her to carry and works perfectly. She was thrilled and we can now sew and make together. I've even used it myself when I've had a quick fix needed that doesn't warrant the set up of my large machine. As I purchased this in the sale for just £12!!! I also promptly purchased one for my niece and friends daughter as birthday gifts. Well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic machine but does the job If you have used regular sized machines you may find this a bit annoying as its awkward to thread and a little basic with some of its features. I wasn't sure if i would get on with this machine, and whilst it took me a little while to get the hang of it, i do think it is a great little machine that doesn't take up any space at all and can be really portable. I bought it to make masks with as my mum has been using my full sized one i didn't have space for it in my flat. I do think this is limited to small projects and would struggle with more difficult garments. But for a cheap machine i can use to make masks with and doesn't take up much space, this machine was exactly what i needed and simple enough to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A remarkable product I am very pleased with my purchase (mini sewing machine). I bought it to do some patchwork. It's very portable and can take it away on my caravan holidays. It's perfect for my needs. I am a very experienced machinist and I used to make costumes for dramas and movies for the BBC and Theatre companies. I have all sorts of different sewing machines etc. But I love this mini machine. I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit too basic I am not an expert in sewing machines and only a novice sewer. I was looking for a simple machine for very simple projects and fixing garments. However, the machine itself, though very light weight and convenient in its size feels very low cost in its manufacturing. It also didn't have some features which i thought might come as standard such as reverse stitching and a light. I think it would be great as a gift for young sewers as a starting gift but not for others who have done a little sewing in the past. I exchanged it for another machine in store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ideal for Bed Bound Bound Disabled persons, to allow them, to sew craft projects my Spouse is Disabled and Bed Bound, which means, she is restricted in what she can do, craft wise. Whilst In the Chester Store, with my Daughter, who wanted a number of Baking items. I came across a Display of these Sewing Machines. Being small, they looked ideal for my Spouse, who has tried sewing projects numerous times. So I impulse purchased one. On arrival home, and presenting it to my Spouse, her face lit up, and She requested that I got out the pile of Fat Quarters, she'd been unable to do anything with. Within minutes, she was happily sewing together, the Fat Quarters, and talking about the projects, she could complete. The Machine is Lightweight Easy to Set Up and Use Ideal for a variety of projects. All in all, a five star product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product I got this little sewing machine as I had some curtains to make. Its really great. Yes it's small and very basic but it does the job. It's a little nosey but you get used to it. It's great that it comes pre-theded as I was able to use it straight away. The fact that it can be plugged in or use batteries is another brilliant feature as it means you can sew anywhere you what to which is also down to the fact that is very compact. Would definitely recommend this to anyone + my mum already has her eyes on mine. She's already tried to make out of the door with it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could have been better As a cheap sewing machine it really was cheap. Unfortunately after the second one broke I decided to give up altogether. I bought this machine for my daughter.. moving on from the sewing cool machine. Started off well she has learned how to set up a machine. For some reason the first machine the needle got stuck and broke! Then the second machine.. where the bobbin sits came out and never went back again, even after asking friends and looking online. It also was returned and we have inherited one that we will use until her birthday and I'm willing to spend £100+ on a decent machine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shocking! I am a complete beginner and thought I would try this before I bought a more expensive one! I haven’t been able to do a decent stitch yet which is frustrating to say the least & I’ve been persevering for 2 days now. I’ve new searching you tube to see what is going wrong but there isn’t anything I can find for the mini. I am thinking that this is for a more experienced sewer. I did ask in shop for a tutorial but was told they don’t really do this for the mini as it’s self explanatory and all ready set up. I hope it hasn’t put me off taking up sewing as a hobby but this has made very hard work of it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Yet to use Loved the size of this compact sewing machine, it was just what I was looking for. Having not used a sewing machine for 20 years, I wanted a simple to use one. However, I just cannot get the stitching right underneath. From memory, I guessed it was a tension issue (too loose) and this was confirmed when searching the Internet. No matter what I do though, I cannot get the bobbin tension right and it's still loose and messy. I only bought this machine as I wanted to alter a skirt and it seemed more cost effective than getting altered professionally. I suspect though that's exactly what I'll have to do as I fear the machine will end up in the dustbin. Shame, as it is perfect for the odd alteration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little sewing machine Bought this for my daughter and son (7 and 5). They absolutely love it, feel very grown up using it and the best thing about is that the machine actually works really well. Don't expect the same as from a normal sized sewing machine. It only has one stitch option and is not the fastest, nor can it manage heavy thick materials, but it is great for small repairs and I use it when I don't want to get the big one out and fantastic for the children. Very easy to use for them and rather slow, so they stay in control. Good start for them to get into making their own things, at the moment we love making little draw string bags for keeping all sorts of things in. My mum recommended to get it, she is very experienced and also teaches primary school children in an after school sewing club. She wishes they all had a little sewing machine like this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised I bought this little machine in the sale for a specific project I wanted to sew. I have to admit I was a bit dubious whether it would be any good but I was really surprised at how good it was. It only has one stitch and two speeds but that is ample if you just want to do some straight seems. I made two cot pillow cases and two cot duvet covers AND put new seams in a cut up single quilt cut to fit the cot in under an hour! Very impressed! This would be nice for a child, but it is really really handy and convenient for those little jobs you can't be bothered to dig the main machine out of the loft for!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Great I had this machine a few years back and had problems with it then. It was in the back of a cupboard since then, until we moved last year. I've been wanting a little sewing machine to do small projects with and saw this one was half price again. I thought I'd try another; the old one I had must have been a bad batch. I've not even had the chance to try this one as when I unpacked it the power cable was missing! I'm presuming someone has stolen it. This was the only one left on the shelf and the box was slightly ripped. I won't be swapping for another, I'll get another that doesn't work again knowing my luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this little machine Among all the larger machine this one looks a bit like a toy, however, when I got home and used it I love it!! Does what I need it to do not over complicated and easy to store away, I may one day when I get a little better, invest in a larger one but for now this is perfect for me. I didn't get the ;driving test' it says you get online when you purchase it and it was quite busy instore so I felt a little too embarrassed to ask for it but it was all set up ready so I took some photos of how it all goes :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for granddaughter’s first sewing machine I bought this sewing machine for my granddaughters 8th birthday as she is very crafty and wants to lean to sew.. It is lightweight so perfect for her to be able to carry but will last her far longer than a toy sewing machine would. It comes ready threaded so she can start sewing straight away without having to wait for “ nanny” to come and show her how to set it up. Very good value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good little thing I liked the idea of a simple machine for small projects so i wasnt dragging the big machine i have out and i was very surprised by how good this little machine actually is. The only bad thing i can really say is it can be alittle fiddly to thread as i dont have the smallest of hands and it is alittle noisey too but apart from that im really happy. Gets small jobs done well and good for more intricate stitching on smaller items if only a simple stitch is needed. Beats hand sewing. Great value for money. And i intent to use it to teach my lil girl how to see on it too before letting her loose on my full size one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant product Bought this for my 7yr old daughter who loves making her own toys and she loved it! Safe, easy to control and so compact it's great to store. My only criticism is that the instructions are very unclear and when I needed to replace the bobbin I had to YouTube it instead. Also, the wheel turns anti clockwise not clockwise which meant the bobbin didn't thread for about half an hour. This could have been better. Overall though excellent product for home seewing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant!! I really couldn't believe the price, less than the cost of a round of drinks. It is the dinkiest machine an takes up very little storage space. Ordering, payment and collection were also very straightforward. I am one very happy customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent little machine! Bought this mini sewing machine when it was on offer at half price. Thought it could be useful for small jobs instead of getting my full sized Singer out. I was definatly right! And suprised at how well it worked, it's simple to set up, easy to use, portable and does most jobs really well, my step daughter who is 10 uses it for all sorts of sewing projects too! I was very impressed with this machine and would highly recommend it, only down side is it has no light, which for what i payed is ok, but for the original price tag maybe a light could have been included!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bargain!! Great product... Great product for the price i paid, my daughter is looking to make her own items and wanted a mini sewing machine so seen this and thought it was a fantastic deal, comes with pedal and mains adapter and also has the option of using batteries, easy to set up, also comes pre threaded ready to use, would highly recommend for any beginners and great for my 11 year old

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine for the price I haven't had a sewing machine for some time and wasn't sure if I'd make enough use out of a more expensive one so took s chance on this one. Undestandably for the price there's no fancy features but what it does is fine and brilliant for the cost - I purchased mine whilst on offer at half the advertised price! The machine even comes with helpful practice accessories, useful for beginners or those who are rusty. The online ordering and click and collect service was smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, simple, and affordable For a beginner this is a great buy! Would be a great first sewing machine to practice and get the hang of using sewing machines in general before committing to buying a full-on and more pricey machines (will suit children too) or will probably be great as a second mini sewing machine for doing little quick jobs like mending or hemming. It's compact and light so great for storage, even fits in my handbag! Maybe if you are used to working with normal sewing machines with more complicated extra features, this might feel like a kids toy and a little flimsy. Also this being such a mini sewing machine, I would not use this to sew heavy or large fabric. I use this to make small clothes for dolls and bears. (I was able to sew thick denim fabric though) I am very happy with this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Once it gets going it's good enough The instructions seem, at times, to refer to components that are not part of the product, leading me to encounter several road blocks. It forces you to sew first with white thread, since this is already threaded and the bobbin on the bobbin spindle cannot be altered. Having now used up all of the white thread, I'm at a loss as to how to put a new spool on it as the instructions call for a bobbin pin, which I do not have. However, while I was using the initial white thread, the machine worked competently.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing little machine Was a bit apprehensive about buying such a small sewing machine, but only needed it to shorten some trousers. So as it was so cheap I gave it a go. It stitched really well and was easy to thread up. It was an added bonus it came with already filled bobbins. No complaints other than because it's so small and lightweight, it moves so stick it to a surface or get someone to hold it firmly!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely little machine This machine is ideal for a beginner like me. I did have a little trouble threading the bottome bobbin as the instructions say to turn the dial clockwise when it is anti clockwise. I took it back to the store and the lady showed me how to do it. Very easy now I know how. I have done a few little projects on it and my daughter had a go too. It is louder than I thought it would be. It is very compact and lives down the side of my sofa. Really pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This is my first sewing machine I have purchased so I thought I would start off with a little one. It's very easy to use and multifunctional. You can either use the foot pedal or turn it on with a Button and you're all set. Love the fact that you can either plug into mains or use batteries. Good price too. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time! Had been wanting to purchase one of these for a while for tiny jobs or papercrafting. The half price deal (which is a more realistic price, in my opinion) was the incentive to finally get one. Really, really wish I hadn't. I didn't touch anything, as according to the instructions the factory set tension should be ok, and it was already threaded with white. I had made some paper bunting for a children's party and decided to sew them to the ribbon. The first one stitched perfectly. However, the second one started to clunk and jam with every stitch. Further investigation discovered that the casing which the lower bobbin sits in had moved and was sliding about. I spent the next 3 hours in utter frustration as it was a constant struggle to sew without the under carriage moving out of position, the thread jamming or knotting, and there was always this awful clunking sound. I ended up getting my full size machine out, which defeated the purpose of buying this product in the first place! I also found it fiddly to thread, with the various eyelets being either too close, too small or at the wrong angle. If my over eager hubby hadn't thrown out the box it came in, the machine would have been returned by now. As it is, it will probably end up in the bin!
