Battery tab would not pull out
The white plastic battery tab would not pull out, to start battery function. Bits kept pulling off. Had to unscrew the whole device and prise out the tab from inside. Very fiddly. The customer is obviously not meant to take it to pieces. Got it going eventually, after 25 minutes. Am I supposed to throw this away when the battery expires? I will try to replace the battery.

Good value calipers
I bought these to measure the thickness of different types of card, which it does very well and seems to be accurate enough for my needs. You can switch from mm to inches and set it to zero anywhere along the scale. The scale itself, although plastic, seems pretty strong and stiff. Recommended.

Worth every penny
One of the best bits of kit I've brought in a long while I build wooden model ship's and the size of any cut has to be correct to the mm otherwise it can through everything out this measure dose just that would definitely recommend it

Light and easy to use
I bought this initially for measuring small gaps in my model making allowing me to make fill-in pieces. I now also use it in my stamp collecting to measure dimensions of postage stamps. I can see many possible uses for this gauge.

Over priced!
Hobbycraft sell these calipers for £21.00. You can buy these calipers online from another retailer for £13.35 inc postage. This has certainly made me think twice about buying from Hobbycraft!
