Ignore the instructions...
I used this on a large conch shell. It needed a good coat with PVA and paint to create a surface that the sheets would adhere to.
The instructions say that the coloured side of the sheet should be in contact with the surface and the adhesive. After an hour of futile attempts I tried it the other way round...and yep, then it worked! So, don't put the shiny coloured side to your working surface, use the dull side instead.
Finished effect is quite pleasing and seems fairly durable even without a topcoat.

disappointing
The front sheet was already crumpled when we opened the pack. It does not stick and brush off as suggested on the packet and/or dosen't work with the Deco Gilding Paste
