Singer M1605 Sewing Machine is a lightweight and portable machine, ideal for taking to sewing classes or sewing in smaller spaces. With preset stitch length and width, the machine will be easy to use, even for beginners.

Whether you're sewing new fashion garments, creating unique quilts or simply mending, the machine will be a great choice. There are six basic stitches featured, for key sewing techniques. You'll have the straight stitch, zigzag, blend hem stitch, multi-step zigzag, decorative scallop and a four-step buttonhole. The machine also provides easy stitch selection, with a stitch selector dial that can be turned to suit your task.

You'll also have adjustable thread tension to fine-tune the look of your stitch. There is an extra high presser foot lift to offer more clearance under the presser foot, ideal for thick fabrics or layers. Additionally, the long-lasting LED provides bright illumination of your sewing area for best results and accuracyas you work. Simple-to-follow threading guides for winding the bobbin and threading the upper thread are conveniently marked on the machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Singer m1605 Just before coronavirus hit I rushed to get this machine as I knew we'd be stuck in at length. 30 years since I'd used a machine so I am defo a novice. Easy set up (few utube videos helping) and I was off. Enjoying so far with a few teething probs. (thread keeps breaking) only used once so far but great wee machine and hoping I get better. Machine has lots of great stitches to do all sorts and utube/singer website are very helpful with tips. Looking forwards to using it more to keep my mind occupied in these bleak times. If your uncertain, dont be, go for it. Am enjoying it so much even though am not great at sewing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect gift for a young beginner We purchased this sewing machine for our daughter as a Christmas present. She is a keen crafter and wanted to widen her talents. As she is only primary school age I read lots of reviews on various machines to make sure we purchased the right one. The staff at hobbycraft really helped guide me. I was personally given a lesson before taking the machine home to wrap and was able to show her the basics on Christmas day! She loves this machine. Its easy to use, has plenty of different stitch options for a beginner. Looks smart and packs away easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little machine I prefer hand sewing and had attempted to use a machine many years ago with little success. I decided that I wanted to try and master sewing with a machine so bought this to try. As I am not an experienced user I cannot give much in the way of a technical review but here are my thoughts. It is very lightweight, which is a bonus, and was very easy to set up. I have stitched 3 or 4 very simple projects as practice and they turned out OK, Will keep practicing and will hopefully eventually master keeping my lines straight! For the sort of projects I believe I am likely to use it for, this machine's functions will be more than adequate and I am enjoying trying to learn a new skill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Simple and easy to use Having not sewn for more than 30 years I wanted a machine that wasn't over complicated, and didn't take up too much space. Price was also important as I wasn't sure if I would enjoy sewing after so long or even be able to use the machine. This machine fits the brief perfectly and I love using her and an creating a lot more than I thought I would. She is light and easy to move from the shelf she sits on to the table I sew on. To say I am delighted is an understatement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This is a great buy, I had another brand sewing machine which broke within 3 months of purchase, I went into local my Hobbycraft store and they were really helpful, they recommended this one. It’s so easy to use for a beginner like myself. I knew that singer were a good brand of sewing machine but this exceeded my expectations! Would very much recommend getting this machine, and if you are unsure at any point the staff within store are really helpful and are able to answer any questions.

I had spent ages looking at reviews and videos not knowing what would be the best machine for use and budget. This was a great choice! Nice and easy to use, instructions not great but loads of videos online. Really enjoying using it. I was happy to find it could take a few folds of a thick wool!

I have been using it all week ,and I'm very happy with the result, I have recommend it to my family and friends , also I have demonstrated how lovely it works , in fact we had a family gathering, and we all had a go ,doing the lovely embroidery , we couldn't get over how beautiful it is , and how easy to use.
