Excellent machine does exactly what it says on the box!
Machine was bought as I am a sewing machine novice and had heard of Singer before.The machine is very sturdy but not heavy so easily portable. Threading is very simple, there is a small instruction booklet with it which is easy to follow. With its simple dial selector the stitches (of which there are many) are easy to set up with no complications.I wanted a machine that I would not 'grow out of' quickly and after a bit of research decided this would be the machine for me and I am not disappointed with it at all.It also came with a bundle of accessories which are very useful. Staff at the Inverness store were very helpful and post sale support is very good. I would definitely recommend this machine to any level of sewer's.

Easy and simple to use
The sewing machine was a present for my mum who loves this machine. The title says it all simple!! The free sewing lessons that were offered have helped her so much she has learnt the basics and got to ask any questions she had. She said Lyn who did the sewing classes was a great help and gave her lots of help and tips. It would be good if they did some paid follow on classes on things like patterns.
When choosing the machine the staff in hobbycraft were really good and knew what they were talking about as this was the best machine for my mum.
The singer does zips, buttonholes and lots of different useable stitches it is a great all rounder. Mum is a begginer and had trouble doing the bobbin but Lyn shoed her and now does it no problem. The instruction book came in very handy when she was setting the machine up.
Highly recommend this sewing machine

Brilliant Sewing Machine
My old machine was about 40 years old, so decided it was time to get a new one. After looking at several machines in store, I decided this was the one for me. It did all the stitches I wanted and was very light weight and compact I found it easy to use and would recommend it to the young and old, new and experienced sewers.

Great Machine!
A lovely machine, simple set up but I could take it in to store if had difficulty. Has all the features I need as a beginner but will also help me with more adventurous future projects! Very pleased with my purchase! I'm very glad I got the machine at Hobbycraft too as with their expert knowledge I know if I get stuck on anything I can just take it into store for help! The machine is very stable and don't feel the material pulling at all!

Fabulous product worth every penny
Hi. This sewing machine was a gift from my husband for our wedding anniversary. I have been having so much fun with it. It's easy to use and stitches beautifully. The instruction Manuel is easy to understand and the numbers on the machine make it easy to thread.I hope I never have to but based on this product I would not hesitate to buy from Hobby craft again and again.

Great machine for a beginner
I would recommend this machine to anyone who is a beginner with a sewing machine. The instructions are clear and it's easy to thread - there are numbered arrows on the machine. It's the first time I'd ever 'wound a bobbin' and it was straightforward and fast. There are lots of stitches to choose from (although I'm not sure what you use them all for...yet). So far I've made napkins and a tablecloth. Next project is bunting and might have a go at sewing blackout material into my curtains. Lovely machine.

Wonderful machine
Its a really nice machine. Easy to thread, lots of fantastic features, particularly for someone who has only ever had a very basic sewing machine with only one stitch and only going forward!
Only downside it that it seems to jam quite easily, but this is probably me not setting it up properly.

Amazing
This product is amazing for anyone who wishes to use a sewing machine. It is easy to use and the foot pedal is sensitive to pressure so the speed is easily controlled. It has a wide range of stitches and is good value for money.
