Tamiya: A superb product.
As per the title, a superb product from a renowned plastic model kit manufacturer. Anyone reading this will no doubt be aware of the company and its reputation so here's my experience of Hobbycraft:
I would never normally buy a kit from such a store... But despite the fact that there is a Hobbycraft on my doorstep almost it was the superb staff that in all honesty swayed me. Ok, you can buy cheaper via the internet but the staff were so helpful, polite and cheerful I didnt mind paying a couple of pounds extra, I didnt have to wait for shipping etc I took the model home which I can't do when buying online. The other fact to consider is that by buying from local stores you are helping to keep them open and in business. Hobbycraft would you please consider expanding your range of Plastic Model Kit range please, preferably some more Tamiya 1/35th scale vehicles as I have already bought almost your entire stock range. Many thanks!

What can I say.. Tamiya= good. @ this price.
Nice kit for those just starting armour modelling. As with most Tamiya kits this is an easy build that lacks some details.
The two things that let this old kit down are no photo etch for the grilles & those awful old school Tamiya rubber band tracks ( I bought aftermarket workable ones for mine.. that cost more than the tank 😢)
However overall a decent model can be made from this kit and it’s well worth a go for the price.

Tamiya Panther
Another of the older Tamiya kits but for the price it is hard to beat for a 1/35 Panther model.
The only downside to the model built straight out of the box is that you can see right through the engine grills and out above the tracks, I fixed this with some plastic sheet glued underneath the hull and glued some mesh from an old tealeaf strainer under the grills. There is an extra grab handle in the kit that is not mentioned in the instructions but pictures from the internet shows this handle should be glued to the hatch on the rear of the turret.
Overall this was a straightforward and fun model to build and I'd happily make another one. I made a diorama base and mounted the tank with a set of Tamiya Panzergrenadiers that were also bought from Hobbycraft at the same time.

Excellent value Panther .
Although an old kit and newer, more accurate models are available, this is great for the price . Ideal for younger or beginner modellers or more experienced builders who have the skills to upgrade , an essential purchase .

This is a very old kit and was made for motorisation so a bit of filling and sanding to do. The scale is a bit over what it should but as a static model it's ok
