I am used to traditional oil paints and tried water mixable ones recently. I am finding them very useful. They dry more quickly and although the texture is slightly different - a bit like the difference between butter and low fat spread - I am pleased with them and will continue to use them for some projects. Hence I bought a few more colours, sap green amongst them. Disappointed that Hobbycraft did not appear to stock a violet or terre verte, but perhaps that was down to my local branch.

The perfect paint for the subject
The Winsor and Newton Artisan water -based oil paints are a pleasure to use. No mess, excellent range of colours, and no smell Sap green is brilliant at mixing with other colours producing a huge range of green tones.

Water based oil paints are a pleasure to use.
I love water based oil paints as they are not messy and smelly and are easy to use. Their colours are vibrant and using them make painting pictures a pleasure.
