excellent refined linseed oil
An excellent and affordable linseed oil for painting in oils: the linseed oil is a traditional method of creating a luminous, flowing penumbra with oils, and gives a depth and texture if you are using paint in thin overlays, or in epic amounts! It is an elemental material , and gives the canvas a resonance of Old Master paintings, especially as I am using earth tones for my work. It also gives the studio a golden autumnal aroma of work in progress!!

Winsor & Newton Refined Linseed Oil 250ml
Really good product and good value for money, especially in the three for two sale. I'm pleased to see W&N are using recycled bottles which have a grey tinge to them making the oil look like a different colour. It's not, it's the same lovely yellow colour as usual.

W&N 250ml linseed oil bottle
I like the oil, but twice, I've had trouble with the lids, being unable unscrew it. I had to bore a hole in the bottle to get the oil out...
I have written to W&N about this, but they have not responded.

smoother application and glossier finish
A few drops of this linseed oil really helps loosen up the thick oil paint and gives a smoother application and glossier finish.
I paint everyday and the bottle lasts a long time.

Product is very smooth.
This oil is very smooth, the paint remains the same colour when I use it, on the other hand, there was once that another brand’s oil slightly changed the colour on my painting.

Terrible cap on bottle!
The product is fine but the child proof cap is terrible, I couldn’t open the cap without damaging the bottle. This has happened several times with these W and N bottles
