Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I needed to knit a 1940’s style sleeveless top for my 10 year old grandson for a school project where he had to dress up as a wartime evacuee I found this wool to be ideal colour wise and although I could not find a 1940’s pattern I used a pattern from Hobbycraft for a sleeveless waistcoat for a young child and adjusted it to make the sleeveless top. My grandson was so pleased with the outcome and he looked the part at school, complete with gasmask box his daddy made him. I felt the wool was appropriate to as it was Women’s Institute Yarn which fitted the era.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I love this yarn. This is the first time I’ve used this for a project and I can’t fault it. The colour is perfect and the quality of the yarn is better than some of the more well known brands. I definitely plan on buying this again in other colours for other projects.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great yarn, but frustrating at times! I brought this yarn as it felt so lovely in the shop. I’ve made a few baby blankets with it which have held up amazingly. My only issue with this yarn, is that with every ball I’ve used there are always different colour fibres spun in with the grey strand. This particular ball I’ve been using has white and black fibres spun in with it and it is so tedious to have to sit and pick them out! Hopefully this is something the factory can rectify as this really is great yarn, it’s just frustrating to have to pick out different colour fibres every 10 minutes

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice wool at a great price but... I've been using the Women's Institute to make a number of scarves. It's a pretty nice quality, particularly at it's 3 for 2 price offer. However I've noticed a problem with a few of the balls (yellow in particular) that there are breakages in the thread that have simply been tied together in a knot. While this isn't a big deal as I just have to cut out the chunk and knit the new segment back in ages, it is a bit of a pain - particularly as I have extra tails to go weave back in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grey Dk wool I love this grey dk wool, it’s so soft, washes well in the machine. I have just crocheted a lovely Afghan throw, the wool seems to go a long way, as in I only used 11 balls to complete my project. I’m very pleased with the result. I also find that it doesn’t split, when working with it. And such a good selection of colours to choose from, although I wish they did it in a mustard colour. Great wool, great value for money, especially when it’s on offer 3 for 2 .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is excellent value Excellent yarn, extremely good value as it is three balls for the price of two. There are no knots halfway through ball, which is not usually the case. Soft wool making it easy to use , I am crocheting with this wool and it has made working my pattern a pleasure I would recommend this wool. There is a good choice of colours and my choice was exactly what I needed also a percentage of the sale goes to the WI which is also helping a lot more groups.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short weighted/short length Bought this yarn to crochet a ripple blanket, which has 6 different colours. I purchased all WI yarn. Each row is the same length & I have calculated that I use approx 16g per colour per section. After 4 sections of the pattern I am 20g short of the dark grey ball, compared to the weight of the other colours. Be careful you may not have enough yarn to finish your project, like me. Very disappointing, I do expect to get what I've paid for.
